Its been part of my everyday reading and studying since my first iPad back in The new version 5 is outstanding specially since finally we are able to sync multiple iOS devices via iCloud. Well done!!! Yet there is a minor issue, that affects regular use of the app, specially in the annotation process. Currently Im using two iPad pros not the last generation, the one before , with apple pencil first generation. It does not ruin the app, but it definitely make it less efficient. Hope to see an upgrade soon addressing this matter.

Reading journal articles is a big part of my life, and this app lets me organise them logically, highlight and annotate, view my annotations easily, copy-paste text, and flip from one article to another really easily.
It's also possible to do a split-screen, with GoodReader on one side and a notebook app on the other, which is the most efficient and intuitive way I've ever found to take notes while reading. Setting up sync with Google Drive, in my case can be a bit trial-and-error at times, but it was well worth it - I know I won't lose my annotations and my archive of articles I've read, whatever happens.
GoodReader is one of the few apps I genuinely would be distraught to lose! I got this app with the intent of going paperless utilizing my iPad Pro when out in the field on assignments.
I discovered during the first day that after annotating a pdf, then entire document would freeze up and not allow me to go to the next page. It worked like a charm - annotations and all, so I abandoned Good Reader Pro for the rest of the assignment. I also ran into a couple of bugs and had a couple of questions right after I purchased this app.
It took the developer nearly two weeks to respond without really helping to resolve another issue. I have been using GoodReader Pro for about a year now for my crosstitch patterns. I have loved it. Suddenly today, it is VERY glitchy…to the point that it is unusable. Do you have any suggestions?
I am frustrated especially because I am in the midst of a pattern. It used to open to the pattern and to exactly where I left off when I closed down. Types of annotations that you can create and edit in GoodReader: popup "sticky" notes with 7 different icons, text highlights, typewriter notes, text boxes with callouts, freehand drawings, lines, arrows, rectangles, ovals, "cloudy" shapes, text underlines including "squiggly" ones , text deletion marks strikeouts , text insertion marks, text replacement marks.
You can freely adjust the color of all of the above. The other types of annotations that you can view in GoodReader: polygons and polylines, rubber stamps, file attachments. I have many pdf files - especially for technical and software subjects. I have never liked reading them on computers. Easy to see text and images, bookmarking and the ability to organize all the books into categorized directories so I can quickly and easily find them has made Goodreader more efficient at maintaining and using large and growing libraries of books.
